No matter what, I will make my borscht!, 2023
Akryl
40 x 40 cm
All money goes to help Ukraine.
The picture depicts a pot of borscht, the national dish of Ukraine. Next to the pot lays the pot's lid, which mirrors a girl and the kitchen cabinet, which became a famous symbol of Ukrainian resistance and perseverance after the Russian attack on the city Borodyanka, where only a kitchen cabinet and its content remained intact, whilst the rest of the apartment, as well as the bigger part of the building were destroyed.
Some inspirational source for my painting has been Edvard Munch's "The Scream", that's why the girl has this face expression.
The painting also depicts other scenes and items of Ukrainian national pride, the colors of the our flag and the Motherland monument situated in Kiev.
Besides all of the obvious there are some parts of deeper meanings to the painting, these meanings I'll leave up to the beholder to understand from their point of view
Om konstnären
I love when I look at some artwork and feel a connection to it, feel that it has been made by someone who can probably understand me or at least some part of my soul. So warm and cozy is this feeling, so nice to think that maybe you found a like-minded in this hectic world.
I hope my art can give this feeling to someone.
I am a Ukrainian girl that moved to Sweden in 2018.
I am a self-taught artist, that started to paint during the corona pandemic. My main work is programming and my free time is spent on painting.
I just started to exhibit my paintings and create separate profiles for paintings on social networks. I will be glad if you follow me there
